Cerberus

A guided character builder for fifth edition, plus a table-side sheet you tap to roll from. Every step is visual and hard to get wrong, closer to a video game's character creator than a stack of dropdowns.

It isn't in the stores yet. The build log follows it week by week, and the links at the bottom are the best way to hear when you can try it.

Build a hero without the rulebook open

Species, class, background, ability scores, skills, equipment, then a look and a name. Each step only asks for the choices that are actually open, and the rules check your picks as you go, so you can't take a skill twice or wear armor you aren't trained in.

Builder step titled Skills & Feats. Skill choices are tappable chips with their bonus, Perception is picked, and Athletics and Intimidation are greyed out and marked Yours because the character already has them.
Skills you already have show up as Yours instead of letting you pick them twice.

A sheet you play from

Tap a skill or save to roll it, with advantage and disadvantage handled for you. In combat, the wheel keeps your Action, Bonus Action and Reaction around your HP, and spells, conditions and their timers live on the sheet instead of on scrap paper. When you level up, the new features come first and the math second.

A Fighter's table sheet with saving throws and skills listed. Athletics carries an ADV badge, and a roll card shows two d20s, 11 and 2, with the 11 kept for a total of 16.
Roll two, keep the 11, add 5.

A dark phone screen with a large gold 5 glowing in a burst of rays. Below it: 'Level up. Bram reached level 5. Fighter 5.' Four gold-edged headline cards read New feature Extra Attack, New feature Tactical Shift, Hit Points +8, and Proficiency Bonus +3, above a gold 'To your sheet' button
Extra Attack first, math second.

Real dice or ours

Toss 3D dice into the shaker and watch the total add up, or roll your own dice at the table and type in what you got. Either way, the sheet does the adding.

A dice tray on a dark phone screen holding five 3D dice: two percentile d10s showing 80 and 90, two d10s showing 7 and 8, and a d6 showing 4. The total reads 189 for 2d100 + 1d6. Below are buttons for d4 through d100, Reset, and a gold Toss dice button
2d100 + 1d6 = 189. No idea what you’d roll that for.

A screen for the DM

The DM screen runs initiative and keeps a card for each monster, with its HP, conditions and attacks ready to roll. It comes with the 329 monsters in the SRD.

The DM screen on a tablet. On the left, the initiative order for round 1 with Goblin Warrior 2 (21), Goblin Boss (13) and Goblin Warrior (4), and a prepared fight called Goblin ambush, 3 monsters, Moderate for 4 at level 1. On the right, Goblin Warrior 2's card: AC 15, 10 of 10 HP, Scimitar and Shortbow attacks with Roll buttons, Nimble Escape and saving throws.
Initiative on the left, whoever’s up on the right.

Bring your own homebrew

Subclasses, feats, magic items and more can come in as homebrew packs, plain files that Cerberus labels as homebrew wherever they show up. Read how a pack is put together, then check yours before you share it with your table.
